About us
If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re a little curious about the couple behind Our Travel Bug — so hello and welcome!
We’re Lee and Jo, a travel-loving couple from a small town in Worcestershire, about ten miles south of Birmingham, UK. Our story began back in 2018, and since then, life has been one incredible adventure. In 2023, during a magical trip to Naples, Italy, Lee popped the question — and of course, Jo said yes! We’re now counting down the days to our wedding in Cyprus in October 2026.
Between us, we have five grown-up children and two very busy work lives, which makes every getaway even more special. When we travel, we don’t just switch off — we explore. We love immersing ourselves in new places, discovering hidden gems, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
The world is a big, beautiful place, and our bucket list of destinations keeps getting longer no matter how many we tick off. From city streets to mountain trails and everything in between, our mission is simple: to experience as much of this amazing planet as possible — together.
Why did we start this blog?
We created Our Travel Bug for one simple reason: to have a single place where all of our memories live. It’s so easy for photos to end up scattered across phones, laptops, and social media, but we wanted somewhere that brought everything together — the moments, the stories, and the little details that make each trip special. This site lets us look back on our adventures whenever we want, and at the same time, share those memories with anyone who enjoys following along. For us, it’s more than a travel blog; it’s our digital scrapbook, a place where every journey has a home.
As Our Travel Bug grows, we hope it becomes more than just a scrapbook of our adventures. We want it to be a place where fellow travellers can find inspiration, practical tips, and hidden gems — and share their own stories too.
